Great accommodation that was clean and close to snow runs, super friendly & helpful staff.
We enjoyed our week at the snow in great conditions, hopefully we can get back.

Few places that I am willing to review, usually I say bad things as that is an Asian thing. But this place, with Taka in it makes it worth the effort to say good things. Simple and nice, and would look forward to a place where I can find his warmth and kindness. A beautiful place with a wonderful person.

Had an amazing stay at Kuma lodge. Recently renovated and westernised. Modern facilities and new beds and crisp white sheets. Excellent views of the mountain and literally about the closest lodge to the beginner run, 2 min walk. Great service and breakfasts as well. Highly recommended!

Ski resort & eateries is walking distance. Balcony view was awesome overlooking the mountains.

Kuma Lodge is a fantastic place to stay for snow sports with immediate access to Madarao Ski Resort literally across the road. The facilitys are modern and rooms comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful and ensured our stay was pleasant. For chilling out the lodge has an entertainment room downstairs. Family’s are welcome with our friends having a baby with them when we stayed. Breakfast was included every morning, all round highly recommended.

The staff here are amazing and so accommodating. The lodge is just next to the slopes.. two minute walk max to get to the runs that take you right down to the main life area. The beds are comfy and it’s warm and cozy. The perfect little mountain escape. It’s also wonderful to have breakfast catered for to prep for a long day on the slopes. The mountain is big enough to accommodate beginner through advanced riders with beautiful tree runs, esp when it snows. They’ve done a great job looking out for both skiiers and boarders. Kuma is the perfect spot on Madarao!

We stayed at Kuma in Jan 2018 with our 5 and 7 year old daughters.
The lodge is in a fantastic location being 50m from the ski fields and with a number of bars and restaurants nearby. In fact I don’t think there is a better positioned lodge in Madarao.
The lodge itself was very clean with modern furniture and high quality linen (something that is not a given in the Japanese ski fields).

I can’t speak highly enough of the staff, they couldn’t do enough for us – brilliant service and great people.
The skiing was great, it’s a nice mountain with amazing snow and some excellent powder runs through the trees.
We loved our stay so much that we have already booked in for 2019 and can’t wait to get back.
