Deep powder or family fun? You can have both in Madarao!

Madarao is one of the easiest Japanese ski resorts to access – only a short 2 hour trip via bullet train from Tokyo to the ski fields. It is popular with those in the know for the deep powder, steep bowls near the summit and the most tree runs of any ski resort in Japan!

Mt Madarao offers dual ski resort access with the neighbouring Tangram Ski Circus to access more terrain. Including Tangram – the mountain has a combined 21 modern chairlifts and 27 official on-piste runs.

The mountain has flown under the radar of Western snow tourists so the slopes are uncrowded and family friendly. With two children’s snow parks, gentle beginner slopes near the base and a constant supply of soft snow – Madarao is perfect for children to get into snow sports or take their skills to the next level.

At Madarao an adult 5 day pass works out to be only about $26 AUD per day, children aged 5-13 are about $12 AUD per day and children under 5 are free. For Buller Season Pass holders – the lift tickets are even cheaper!
